In July 2020, Softball Umpires in Bozeman/Belgrade (District 7), split from former ties to begin the long journey to build and strengthen the umpire family. In August 2020 The State of Montana and the IRS Formally Recognized the Yellowstone Headwaters Umpire Association as a Non-Profit, 501-c-3 Organization.

Umpires are a Fraternity, we are one big happy/dysfunctional family, who are brought together with the love of the game, and bound through the adventures on the field we endure. we learn and grow from each other through swapping stories and learning from each others experience. the YHUA looks to bring that family atmosphere to the State of Montana.

In 2021 the YHUA had a huge year, our first fund raiser got our feet off the ground. We became a Gear Distributor for the State of Montana via ASA Properties/Officialgear.com and have built our path to helping Umpires achieve their goals.
